I probably should have written about this yesterday when it was current, but a day after I watched it, it still sticks in my mind.
President Obama attended the House Republican Retreat in Baltimore yesterday and took questions from the membership. Note to Republicans: there was no teleprompter.
The Republicans asked lengthy talking points couched as questions. Obama called bullshit on the talking points and kicked ass. I don't think you'll see the Republicans putting Obama on live TV again anytime soon.
Many people call this the "new" Obama. But it's not. It's the old Obama, the one with fire, the one who wouldn't have rolled over and played dead to people like Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman on health care.
I'm glad the old Obama is back. I hope he sticks around for a while.
You've probably seen sound bites of yesterday's meeting by now, but the sound bites pale in comparison to the real thing.
