Beware of Census Scams |

But first, congratulations to the Saints. Super Bowls are usually about as exciting as a root canal, but I liked this one.
No really notable commercials. I guess my fave was the Doritos electric dog collar commercial. I had to wait until the 4th quarter to see a Bud Clydesdale commercial, but it was cute.
Now on to the latest Census scam. This one doesn't come from some Nigerian banker, it comes from the Republican Party.
My wife got this official-looking document in the mail last week. I wish we had saved the envelope--it was pretty official-looking too.
It was a four-page "Congressional District Survey Census."
(ed: that's what I get for writing this part of the article during the Super Bowl)
Once you got to page four, you found out it was a fundraising solicitation from the RNC.
It's probably not illegal to pretend to be the U.S. Census. But it ought to be. |
